CGOA wants you to teach in our 2024 Online Education Program!

The Crochet Guild of America (CGOA) offers a year-round online education program. Founded in 1994, CGOA provides education and networking opportunities and sets a national standard for the quality, art and skill of crochet. We seek knowledgeable instructors who can teach a range of live, virtual classes geared for the enthusiastic emerging crocheter, the experienced master crocheter and every crocheter in between.
What we’re looking for
We'd like technique and project classes, as well as classes suited to a variety of skill levels. We are interested in offering a variety of class lengths, from single 1–2-hour classes to longer multi-session classes with homework, skill building or project progress between each session. Instructors must be comfortable using Zoom video software to teach.
We are not seeking submissions for classes that teach non-crocheters how to crochet. There are many existing online and in-person classes for true beginners.
Compensation overview
CGOA will compensate the instructor, upon successful completion of the class, at a rate of $100 per hour for 7–10 students, $125 per hour for 11–20 students, $135 per hour for 21 or more students.
Every class must have a minimum of 7 paid students registered at least 5 business days prior to the first scheduled class, otherwise the class will be canceled.
The class will be recorded via Zoom cloud recording. Registered students will have view-only access to the video for two weeks following the class.
Submission deadlines
All proposals submitted will be considered for the 2024 class schedule based on the date received. The CGOA Online Education Committee will evaluate class proposals on a rolling quarterly basis.
Submit your proposal by these dates to be considered for the following sessions:
- Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2023: Winter, Spring, Summer, Autumn
- Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024: Spring, Summer, Autumn
- Wednesday, May 1, 2024: Summer, Autumn
- Thursday, Aug. 1, 2024: Autumn
